VocalScope
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of VocalScope, the web application at https://app.vocalscope.app and related pages at https://vocalscope.app (the "Service"). The Service is operated by VocalScope operator, Republic of Korea ("VocalScope", "we", "us").
By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy (https://app.vocalscope.app/privacy). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
VocalScope lets you record or upload a vocal performance and turns it into a mixed cover track and related analysis (for example pitch, timing, lyrics alignment and practice feedback). The Service is currently an invite-only beta: access requires an approved application or an invitation, and features may change, break or be removed without notice.
2. Eligibility and access
- You must be at least 13 years old if you live in the United States and at least 14 years old elsewhere, or have permission from a parent or guardian where the law requires it.
- During the beta, applications are accepted only from residents of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
- Access is tied to an invitation link and the device on which it was opened. Keep your invitation link private. You are responsible for activity on your access.
- We may refuse, suspend or end access at any time, for example for misuse, security reasons, or the end of the beta.
3. Your content
- "Your Content" means recordings, uploaded audio, lyrics, notes and other material you submit, and the mixes and analyses generated from it.
- You keep all rights you have in Your Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and transform Your Content only to operate the Service for you (for example to separate, analyse, mix and play it back to you), to keep backups, and to fix problems.
- Data contribution: while the "Data contribution" setting is on, we also use your vowel-training numbers and the songs and lyrics you upload (including your corrections) for research to improve the engine, only on our server; audio only if you agree separately. It is never published or shared, and we keep it until you turn it off or delete it. You can turn it off or delete it any time in Settings → Data contribution. Details are in section A3 of the Privacy Policy.
- We do not publish Your Content, post it to social media, or use it in our marketing without your separate, explicit permission.
- You can delete Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Music and third-party rights
- Many covers use songs, lyrics and backing tracks owned by others. You are responsible for having the rights you need to record, upload, and especially to share or publish anything you make with the Service.
- Mixes you download are for your personal use unless you have the necessary licences.
- If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact [email protected] with details. We will review and remove infringing material where appropriate.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you have no right to use, or content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes privacy;
- record or upload another person's voice without their consent;
- try to access other users' data, bypass the invitation gate, probe or overload the Service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
- share your invitation or access with others, resell access, or use automated means to access the Service;
- use the Service to create content intended to impersonate a real person or deceive others.
6. Our own social media posts
VocalScope operates official accounts on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube and posts its own promotional clips there through the platforms' official APIs. Those clips are made from music we are allowed to use (credited in the post) and never from users' recordings unless a user has given us separate written permission. Your use of TikTok, YouTube or any other platform is governed by that platform's own terms (for YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).
7. Fees
The beta is currently free of charge. If paid plans are introduced, we will update these Terms first.
8. Availability, changes and beta status
The Service runs on our own hardware and is provided "as is" and "as available". It may be unavailable during maintenance or outages. We may change or discontinue features. Keep your own copies of anything important.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement) and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including the Korean Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions and consumer protection laws.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if the beta ends.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be heard by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to sue elsewhere.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify active users in the app or by email at least 7 days in advance.
